Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of Abundance. She is one of the three aspects of the Divine Mother, along with Durga and Saraswati. She brings good fortune, wealth and abundance of all good things. This painting accompanied my desire to let more abundance come into my life.
Lakshmi started by me simply picking the Lakshmi card in the oracle deck: "Ascended Master and Archangels" from Doreen Virtue. The next day, I woke up at 6am and started sketching Lakshmi from that card.
A few days later I went back and painted that sketch with watercolor, put it in a frame and put it up in my bedroom.
From there, I knew I had to create a piece on canvas. I was looking for a new job that would bring more passion and better pay, and I was connecting to Lakshmi's energy every day to help me with that. During a meditation session I saw the image of a gold Lakshmi on a purple shiny background.
I create the background then traced her in Gold.
Then finished with some shiny colors: pearl blue, pearl purple and gold (Golden's Interference paints).
